factsmate is a facts site built on one rule: if we can't source it, we don't publish it. Every fact shows its evidence, so you never have to take our word for it.
Every fact is corroborated
Each fact carries at least two independent, credible sources — different organizations, not two pages of the same site. The substance of a claim must come from a high-trust reference: a government body, an academic institution, a peer-reviewed journal, a major museum or national library, or an encyclopedia of record. Popular media may add colour, but it never carries the core claim on its own.
Verified, then written in our own words
Before a fact ships, every source link is opened and checked to confirm it's real and actually supports the claim — we never cite a page we haven't read. The fact is then written in our own words, kept concise, and dated, so you can see when it was last reviewed. You'll find the full source list on every fact page, with each reference linking out to the original.
How confident we are
Not everything is settled. We label facts by confidence — well-established, contested, or emerging — so a point of live scholarly debate is never dressed up as certainty.
